Attraction & Entertainment Solutions (A&ES) completed the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centers, a playground environment, for Merlin Entertainments at Michigan’s largest outlet center and Arizona’s leading indoor outlet mall. A&ES’ Team was selected as the theming contractor for these entertainment complexes.

A&ES’ professional designers, artists, and fabricators used their unique experience to execute complex plans for the new Center. Utilizing LEGO® Friends’ Bonnie and Bertie, you enter through an LED-lit arch and an industrial-style door where torches light the Kingdom Quest sign leading to the Lego®-style “wood queue” barrier fence, which defines the area. The “Miniland” sign leads you into a great space where kids sit comfortably on stools at the large master-modeler builders’ desk and play atop jigsaw building tables where they compete and imaginations explode. Next, The Friends’ Space welcomes you into the outside area (entrance portal, fence, pillars, sunflower, brick trough). Circle portals and wall lamps with functional lights are located just beyond the outside-mounted, LEGO® model-making planter where you can relax in the garden (table, stools). “Heartlake City” features Olivia, Andrea Emma, Stephanie, and Mia model-making tables with dimensional wall appliques featuring  LEGO®-inspired bush, butterfly and paw print.

Journey down to the barn (slide or step-in) to the circular brick fire pit by the cut-out tree and trimmed hedge with DUPLO® vac plate and trough. Torches light the way to the themed brick relief where kids sit on stools and build LEGO® racers at a large table. Kids test designs on the dual test ramps by the brick collection box filled with LEGO®-style tires. There’s a holding shelf with accommodating stools, too.

Parents choose from a variety of birthday rooms to build memories, where kids go on rides or take a factory tour. The 4D cinema sign marks the way to the LEGO®-style ticket kiosk and curtain relief area in the main entertainment center. Here, kids sit on stools and test building skills atop laminated tables in the creative workshop, which is decorated with orange and green ceiling drapes. Children play in Duplo Farm, while parents take a break in the coffee shop. All enjoy the LEGO® Store. Sit on the LEGO®-style park bench or regular benches under the LEGO®-style awning and roof and LEGO®-style window relief by the LEGO®-style lighting column, then exit through the LEGO®-brick themed portal and exit letters and go into the next environment.
