Madame Tussauds (Orlando, Florida)
A&ES completed their design/assist project with static and fully interactive hands-on museum vignettes for the world-renowned Madame Tussauds-Orlando. The exhibits focus on family friendly American themes of which accommodate 65 famous figures featuring A-list celebrities and leaders, music legends, sports champions, silver screen TV icons, Marvel and historical characters, including a retail store.
The result is a unique guest experience educating the visitor on the achievements and legacies of iconic American women and men whose legacies are intertwined into this country’s arts and culture, many of whom have helped to build on the foundation of every-day quality of life.
The attraction floor plan leads the visitor through more than 500 years (YES, JUAN PONCE DE LEON IS FROM 1513) of legends, starting with Joan Ponce de Leon to Steve Jobs. From Abraham Lincoln to the landing on the moon, the experiential visit features opportunities to test your strength, be surprised when sitting in seats triggered with sound, watching videos of your favorite and historical moments in time, plus have an opportunity for a unique photo op a supposedly fast-moving airboat navigating full-force into a swamp full of man-eating alligators and other lively creatures.
You are welcomed as you walk into the elegant red and gold entrance. Soon, visitors can move at their own pace while immersing themselves into tactile and audible activities giving a “close-up and personal” time with Madam Tussauds’ figures in each vignette. Visitors’ cameras go wild clicking photo ops with celebrities and well-known historical figures.
A&ES perfectly details each scene bringing the visitor in front of a tall-ship’s cannon to a Civil War tent, a hungry alligator to exciting animatronics to engage and excite, even offering up a walk past the Oval Office to an exploration of how the first QR code came about, all the while continuing a personal commune with and celebrating American creativity, innovation and discovery – all under one roof.
Pop art and participatory games create fun for the whole family and provide a moment back in time to Madame Tussauds own Baker Street bazaar where the light of discovery turns on the imagination of each guest.
A&ES provided painstaking shop drawings in full detail, sculptured finishes, fabricated moldings, interior signage and full installations of each vignette with specific LED lighting and dynamic special effects controlled with sensors, triggers and timers in dioramic spaces creating visitor experiences deep into American history while walking from room to room. Each space is themed to match exactly the legacy of each person, whether in a boxing gym, football stadium, auditorium stage or on a golf course where the “whack” of the ball is so audible, one would think they were next to a golf legend who just took a winning swing.
From cool to contemporary spaces to electronic interactive opportunities, the journey inside Madame Tussauds is an extraordinary and personal one for each guest, a fun walk through history all in a day.
