(May 2015) Attraction & Entertainment Solutions Inc. (A&ES) is proud to partner with Merlin Entertainment Group LLC in the opening of the new LEGO CITY Burger Kitchen at LEGOLAND® Florida

LEGOLAND® Florida’s new Burger Kitchen is a functional restaurant designed to serve meals and refreshments to park visitors. In keeping with the themed environment, the new LEGO® CITY Burger Kitchen was designed with special attention to detail to keep children engaged in LEGO themed discovery and learning while they eat and rest.

“We are proud of all of our work with Merlin Entertainments and thoroughly enjoyed our part in bringing burgers and refreshments to LEGOLAND Florida.” – John Oldham, A&ES President.

The scope of work provided by the A&ES creative team for the addition of LEGOLAND Florida’s Burger Kitchen included the following:

  • Research and Analysis of Client Goals and Requirements
  • Project Management including Budget and Schedule
  • Development of Design in Concert with LEGO Brand Designers, Architects, Engineers and Contractors
  • Interface and Integration Coordination
  • 3D CNC Fabrication
  • Metal (Certified) and Wood Fabrication
  • Fiberglass (FRP) Production
  • Matthews Paint System (Certified)
  • Color and Finish Submittals
  • Shop Drawings and Engineering

This project included the design, fabrication, engineering and installation of extensive signage for the new Burger Kitchen’s exterior. Multiple signs, lettering and logos were fabricated using mixed media including PVC, powder-coated aluminum, ACM and vinyl to create aesthetic appeal for passersby.

The A&ES creative team was able to showcase some of their unique talents and skills in the fabrication and engineering of special effects for the restaurant’s interior. Several of the highlights for this specific project include the iconic Q-Line LEGO Barricade with cast orange lights along with special lighting and even a functional scrolling ticker with speakers to announce free meal giveaways.

The scope of work for the functional LEGO CITY Burger Kitchen also included the production of a variety of construction workers and props. Oldham and his creative team created the construction worker cutouts and vinyls, jackhammers, ladder, construction cones, shovels and other props all according to LEGO branding requirements and guidelines.

A&ES’ innovations are much sought after around the world, as projects are precisely estimated, carefully executed and completed on budget and on time – every time.

A&ES was also commissioned to produce the exciting Girder Entrances adorned in construction figures, ladder, construction cones and signage. The extensive signs, posters, lettering and LEGO action figures were all fabricated in accordance with LEGO® branding requirements and guidelines.
