Madame Tussauds Orlando

Merlin Entertainments© • Museums & Edu-tainment • May 2015

Madame Tussauds Orlando is a beloved museum brand for life-size wax replicas of famous Americans and historical icons in fantastically themed galleries. The world’s most fantastic wax museum and celebration of American themes and A-listers live here.

A&ES collaborates with Merlin Entertainments© to create Madame Tussauds Orlando. The exhibits focus on family-friendly American themes that accommodate 65 famous figures featuring A-list celebrities and leaders, music legends, sports champions, silver screen TV icons, Marvel, and historical characters, including a retail store. The result is a unique guest experience educating visitors about the achievements and legacies of iconic American legends intertwined into US arts and culture, many of whom built the foundation of the every-day quality of life.

A&ES Build Highlights

As the sole theming contractor with Merlin Development (MD), A&ES produces the static and fully interactive hands-on museum vignettes for the world-renowned wax museum. Guest experience more than 500 years of legends from Joan Ponce de Leon to Steve Jobs. From Abraham Lincoln to the landing on the moon, the experiential visit features strength testing opportunities. Sit in seats triggered with sound, watch videos of favorite and historical moments, and get a photo on a fast-moving airboat navigating full-force into a swamp full of man-eating alligators and other living creatures. After entering the elegant red and gold entrance, guests wander throughout immersing themselves in tactile and audible activities giving a “close-up and personal” time with Madam Tussauds’ figures in each vignette. A&ES perfectly details each scene bringing the visitor in front of a tall ship’s cannon to a Civil War tent; a hungry alligator to exciting animatronics to engage and excite; a walk past the Oval Office to an exploration of how the first QR code came about. Thrive while celebrating American creativity, innovation, and discovery – all under one roof.

A&ES provides intricate shop drawings in full detail, sculptured finishes, fabricated moldings, interior signage, and full installations of each vignette. Specific LED lighting and dynamic special effects controlled with sensors, triggers, and timers in dioramic spaces create an in-depth experience into American history. Every space is themed to match exactly the legacy of each person, whether in a boxing gym, football stadium, auditorium stage, or on a golf course where the audible “whack” of the makes guest think they are playing golf with a celebrity. From avant-garde, ceilings to complete fabrication of floors and walls, chairs and columns, tables and sea-going ships, and more, A&ES ensures this travel back in time realistic and educational, all delivered under budget and on time.
