A&ES completes The Mission Zone for the 104,000sf, multi-level Salvation Army-Kroc Foundation Multi-Challenge Activity Center as major Memphis attraction near the Liberty Bowl

Attractions & Entertainment Solutions (A&ES) is thrilled to announce the completion of one of its most unique themed attraction projects to date – a Multi-Challenge Activity Center (MCAS) for the Salvation Army – Kroc Foundation. Located at the Mid-South Fairgrounds near the Liberty Bowl in Midtown Memphis, Tennessee, the 104,000 square feet center will offer a comprehensive range of family oriented programs and services to the surrounding community.

The recreational center, also known as The Mission Zone, consists of a multi-level building with numerous rooms centered around an open competition arena and basketball court. Each room features the themed architectural millwork, themed facades, casework, sculpture, lighting effects, interactive components, hand-painted faux finishes and large-scale printed graphicsproduced by the A&ES creative team. As one moves from room to room through the highly detailed and immersive environment, one is reminded of an old boiler room in one area, and perhaps a futuristic science lab in another area.

In a coordinated effort with Ty Cobb, the forward-thinking manager for the Salvation Army-Kroc Center, and Brandon Allen of the visionary architectural and engineering firm, Renaissance Group, the A&ES production team custom fabricated every piece of the themed interiors and scenic elements to precise specification at their Jacksonville production facility. Drawing upon years of experience within the amusement park and themed attraction design industry, John Oldham (President) and Tom Goldsworthy(Creative Director) navigated their talented team of production artists and craftsmen through the highly complex and lengthy design-build process toward the projects successful completion. The end result is a magnificent project that is already drawing much attention and praise for all of those involved.
