Southfield Public Library
Southfield, MI
Client: Southfield Public Library
Project Description
Public Libraries are often vital parts of thriving communities, enriching the lives of its citizens, and providing opportunities to connect and learn in an engaging and welcoming space. Nowhere is this more apparent than the visually exciting, themed environments of the Southfield Public Library. Known for creating richly textured immersive attractions for children, A&ES was chosen to design and engineer the library’s newly themed interior and exterior areas.
A&ES’s creative team took the lead on the design, fabrication, and installation of each engaging environment. A&ES-created elements include: a Treehouse reading area with realistic bark, foliage, decking and lounge seating, sculptural reading throne, larger-than-life book archway with stacked book columns, exterior stacked book sculpture, space station themed reading room, as well as custom wall graphics, signage, hand-painted murals, and custom millwork. Whether they are inside the control center of a vast spaceship or visiting a mystical world of friendly dragons and enchanted forests, Southfield Public Library inspires children to discover new things and explore the wonderful world of the written word.
